Craft videos are so much fun to watch. I love finding them all over YouTube. Watching craft videos makes it easier to see step by step instructions of craft projects. This week I stumbled across this video, on how to customize a wipe case with Mod Podge. I had never seen anything like this. I thought it was a great and fun idea. This is a simple project that allows you to be as creative as you like. For more craft videos check out our YouTube channel, Plaid Craft TV. Do you watch craft videos from YouTube?
During the holiday season many families gather together. It’s often a great time to reconnect with your loved ones, and spend quality time together. While you are with your family you might start to ponder about your family history or genealogy. That’s exactly what inspired Meg from Mega Crafty to create this adorable pillow. Meg used Plaid’s Simply Screen DIY Kit. This design is very nice and has a classic vibe to it. It makes a great home decor item, and could also be a great gift to create for a family member. Click here to see how Meg created this project. She also gives you a free printable to go along with this project. Thanks so much Meg for sharing this wonderful pillow with us.

So I am well aware that in certain parts of the country the weather outside is beginning to get a little cooler, however down here in Georgia, where Plaid is located, it is still quite hot outside. With that in mind I truly believe one can never have enough tank tops, to help keep them cool. I stumbled across this very interesting way to create trendy decorative tops from t-shirts. DIY fashion is such a hot trend right now, and everyone wants to unleash their inner Project Runway, and design their own clothes. Use this example from Annie Spandex, and learn how to created this look or something similar for yourself. She used some easy to find items and FolkArt paint to create these looks. What DIY fashions have you made lately?
Mirror mirror on the wall, what are the hottest craft supplies of them all? Well, obviously this is an easy question to answer. The new Martha Stewart Paint Line, of course. Check out this project we found online. One of our blogger friends, Michelle at A Little Tipsy, received a sample of some of our new Martha Stewart paint products. She made this amazing frosted mirror using several of the new products. Absolutely fantastic! Click here to see how she made this project. Michelle even made a quick video to show her technique when applying the paint to the stencil she used. Would you try to re-create this project?

Pinterest is a word I have been hearing a lot, and seeing all over the place online. Many of you may already know about this new cool, and creative site, but for those of you who may not know about it, I am here to fill you in. Pinterest describes itself as a virtual pinboard. As stated on their site: Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes. Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.
I love finding inspiration online, and usually I can spend several hours looking for my next craft inspiration. Pinterest is a place online where you can now find inspiration in one central place. It is definitely a great way to keep track of all the things you want to try out. For several months Pinterest was in beta mode, and people were only allowed to join the site by invite only. Now anyone may request an invite, or if you know someone on Pinterest they can directly send you an invite.
Once you are able to become a member on the site, set up your profile page, and honestly before you begin pinning things you should spend sometime just browsing the site. There are so many things to view, plus by browsing it will allow you to become more familiar and comfortable with how to navigate the site.
Here is a great tutorial on how to get started on Pinterest. Plaid is also excited to announce that we are on Pinterest (plaidcrafts is our name on Pinterest). We are constantly adding new projects daily, so please check us out here for some craft inspiration.
