Even though CHA has been over for about two months we captured so many amazing craft demos, we just have to share with you. During our time at the CHA Winter 2013 show we were lucky enough to have some amazing craft bloggers inside our booth. One of those bloggers was Vivienne from The V Spot (http://www.thevspotblog.com/). In this video watch as Vivienne creates some wonderful Faux Robbin Eggs. Vivienne made this project using Martha Stewart acrylic paints (Pond Surf, and Vanilla Bean). This is a great springtime project that you can use for Easter, or add these eggs to a glass vase and place in your home. To see more crafts from Vivienne visit her blog, The V Spot (http://www.thevspotblog.com/). Watch this video below or click here to view.

Gather one large wooden heart, paint brushes and your favorite Folk Art acrylic paints and glitter paints. You’ll also need a drill, clock kit and specific drill bit size (see clock kit package for size)

Hooray! You have made it through the week, and it is time to celebrate by crafting. This weekend what are your craft plans? Often times when people craft they forget to create something for their four legged friends. Well during this holiday season make something nice for your dog or cat. Erika from Sew DoggyStyle did exactly that by designing this personalized dog bowl and placemat. How cute is this? Erika made this using Martha Stewart paints and stencils. It is so easy to create, and any pet is sure to love it. So this holiday season don’t forget to spread some love to your little furry friends. People and pets love crafts. As the temperature begins to drop outside, you may want to warm up your home and make it extra cozy this fall. One way you can do this is by adorning your home with candles. Candles can add elegance to any room. To really make your candles standout, try decorating a glass holder. That is exactly what Chris Williams did in this Martha Stewart glass project. Chris used several frost translucent paints from the new glass paint line. This week on Paint Me Plaid we are giving away some of these frost paints. Glass painted candles are charming for any room. 1. Silkscreen stencils can be applied to any nonporous glass or ceramic surface. For best results, the surface should be smooth. Clean the area to be painted with soap and water. Wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove any remaining residue.
2. Place objects on a flat surface large enough to accommodate your project. Create a unique pattern by repeating a silkscreen over an area. Arrange designs in a grid for a structured look, or apply randomly for a playful, organic effect.
Make sure to plan and measure both the silkscreen and the surface. To get an idea of what it will look like before you commit to paint, copy and print the design on paper first and tape it to your surface. Finalize your design and mark the placement with a wax pencil. For a look that’s cohesive and natural, limit your palette to one, two, or three colors. Use varying shades of one color, complementary colors, or colors in the same family (warm tones, cool, tones, rich tones, pastels, etc.).
