We had a group of gals in our studio last weekend. We were celebrating Quinlan’s 8th birthday! This special little girl happens to be the oldest child of Kristen Chase, co-founder of mega site Cool Mom Picks. The birthday girl wanted to paint + craft ….. so of course we busted out the FolkArt paint! The kiddos were all giggles and couldn’t believe all of the FolkArt colors they could choose from. Follow our 3 easy steps and your children will be painting masterpieces of themselves in no time!
We love summer! When good weather arrives we hit the road. My husband and I tuck the kids into the family wagon and head for the sea. We’ve always encouraged journal keeping and sketchbooks. So my husband gave each one of our children a book of blank pages. He loves to see their ideas come to life!
We are majorly crushing on pastels this summer. Here are my 10 crafty pastel picks of the week. Dreamy sails, to gold dusted sweets, the lighter colors have us twisted around their pink and purple fingers!
What is your favorite FolkArt color for this delightful super summer? Please let me know. We love hearing from you!

Tired of crafting on traditional surfaces? Looking for a new kind of surface you can personalize, and make your own? If you answered yes to these questions we’ve got just the thing, canvas totes. Canvases in general are wonderful surfaces to craft on, but with a canvas tote you can display your unique craftiness everywhere you go. Holli Nutter designed these totes, and they are so cute. These make great gifts to give family and friends. This canvas tote would make an excellent Mother’s Day gift. Feel free to change out the colors used, and use other FolkArt paints instead.
