By Handmade Charlotte with Ashley Rush
Today’s super awesome stencil project comes from Atlanta-based photo stylist and mother Ashley Rush, whose unique, 100 percent handmade creations (available at rowansroom.etsy.com and metalmade.etsy.com) have made her a featured seller on Etsy. Ashley comes from a long line of creative types (her mom is an interior designer and her grandmother’s a ceramicist), so it’s no surprise that she can combine her inherited passion for art and her refined photography skills to create an inspired project for you using FolkArt Multi-Surface Acrylic Paint and FolkArt Handmade Charlotte Stencils.
With only a few supplies and in two steps, you can upcycle a skirt into wearable art for you or the little one. Here’s how.
What You Need
- FolkArt Handmade Charlotte Stencils
- FolkArt Multi-Surface Acrylic Paint
- Paint brush or paint sponge
- Small ironing board or small book (to place under skirt)
Slide skirt over small ironing board or small book and smooth out.
Place and tape stencil to desired area and then paint! For thicker application you can let dry and repeat the process.
